When you consider that Aruba is just 20 miles long and six miles wide at the widest point of the island, it is quietly remarkable that there are several casinos available for you to go to during your stay there. That, perhaps, is a sign of how it is that visitors to the Caribbean location, which is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, like to have a flutter in between their visits to the beach and their time spent sunbathing by the swimming pool.
Thanks to the Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino, you can fit in whatever betting and gaming you feel like before going back to your room, out for a bite to eat or jumping in the pool, without even needing to leave the area.
The Casino
The first thing that you’ll notice when you go to what Hilton label ‘The Casino Aruba’ is the fact that you are gambling under a starlit sky. At least, that is what it feels like thanks to the stylised ceiling that is in a dome shape and appears to show stars twinkling above you. The next thing you’ll see is the slot machines, owing to the fact that the casino is seemingly full of them. Slot machines are popular with casino managers all of the world, such is the nature of the manner in which they can make them money, but they’re also popular with the punter that believes that they can taken them on and emerge victorious, in spite what the stats say.
Slots
The slot machines on offer at the Casino Aruba are modern, meaning that there are all sorts of games on offer that you’ll almost certainly have been able to play elsewhere. If slots aren’t quite your thing but you still like to stick with electronic options then you can have a look at the video poker machines, as well as the electronic roulette tables.
Table Gaming
For most people, the thing that they enjoy the most at a casino is a proper table game at which they can interact with others. At the Casino Aruba, you can do that with all of the most popular table games that you’d get to play on at pretty much any other casino anywhere in the world.
That means that you can enjoy the thrill of seeing the roulette wheel spin and watch the ball on its journey to a final resting place, which may or not be next to the number that you’ve bet on or the colour that you thought it would land on. If roulette isn’t for you because of the manner in which it is arguably the definition of being all about luck rather than skill, maybe you would rather sit down at one of the blackjack tables and take on the dealer. Make sure that you play Basic Strategy in order to give yourself the best possible odds, even if they still favour the House rather than the player, taking the fight to the casino.
Poker Room
For poker players that are spending a bit of time in Aruba, the Poker Room at the Casino Aruba is where you’ll want to spend most of your time. There are daily chances to take part in a poker game, such as 2/5 No Limit Hold’em, as well as other variations on that classic card game. This is also where the Caribbean Poker Series was played in 2024, so you know you’re sitting down at one of the top poker venues in the area.
Sports Book
There is also the Sports Book, which allows you to place bets on living sporting events taking place around the world, from NFL to Premier League, MLB to Champions League football; if it’s on, you’ll be able to bet on it.
The Resort
Away from the casino, the rest of the Hilton Resort has all of the sort of luxuries that you’d expect to experience on a Caribbean island. This beachfront location promises white sands, blue seas and lush palm trees dotted around. If you’re hoping you relax and unwind then you’ve chosen exactly the right place to head to, thanks to the fact that there are a number of pools available for you to head to. If you prefer your swimming experience to be a little more natural then Palm Beach is where you’ll want to make your way to. The beachside areas give you the chance to chill out, soaking up the sun or delighting in sunset photo opportunities.
Facilities & Amenities
If you’re more of an active person than one that likes to spend your time relaxing, you can enjoy numerous different activities that can be sorted and organised by Hilton Aruba. The two zero-entry pools onsite are located close to Castaways Bar, meaning that you can have a swim before sipping on a cocktail or having an ice-cold beer. The North Pool is where to go if you want to take part in some pool volleyball or take an aqua aerobics class, whilst the South Pool is a much more relaxed experience. There is a fitness centre in the hotel, whilst the more adventurous amongst you might fancy heading out on a tour of the island.
Things to Do
If you have kids then you can keep them busy by opting for the likes of a visit to the butterfly farm or get up close and personal with exotic birds. You can rent bikes to go for a ride around the island, or get hold of a kayak and disappear into the beautiful waters of the Caribbean Sea. Golfers will be pleased to know that there are two course not far from the hotel, which promise stunning views of the Caribbean as you make your way around. There is also the chance to head to the shops, with two on-site boutiques offering the likes of gifts, accessories, souvenirs and clothing, whilst an array of shops over the road from the hotel offer even more choice.
