A constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Aruba is based over just shy of seventy square miles and has a population of about one hundred and ten thousand. Gambling is legal and regulated on the island, with casinos allowed to operate provided that they’re either within or connected to a hotel.
Aruba is joined in the Caribbean by Curaçao, and Sint Maarten in terms of being part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The Dutch seized the island from Spain in 1636 and, though it has had numerous countries claim ownership of it ever since, remains part of the Netherlands. Generally flat and riverless, Aruba’s white sandy beaches make it an attractive destination.

The Departamento di Asuntonan di Casino is responsible for the issuing of licences to companies that wish to operate a casino in Aruba. Companies don’t actually need to be based on the island to receive a licence, but they do need to ensure that their casino is either within connected to a hotel complex in order to operate.

Gambling in Aruba is popular both for locals and tourists, though there’s a law banning locals from attending casinos more than eight times a month.
